Anzatan Commonwealth
Advert
The Changing of the Guard
Year 12 Day 144

Her Majesty issued a brief announcement from the Throne earlier today, marking a significant change to the Commonwealth's Privy Council. These changes included several important figures stepping down, and new faces ascending into the inner sanctum of the government.

After many years of faithful service, Chancellor Cyril Xanthe resigned his place as head of the Commonwealth's government. His many accolades in service to Anzat were noted in the Throne speech, and the most sincere and humble of thanks given by Her Majesty. His successor, former Minister of Defence Soki Ionian, was also announced. Analysts show optimism for his appointment, noting his former seating upon the Jedi High Council alongside Her Majesty as a testament to their ability to work together and the calming, exacting nature he is likely to bring to the government's helm.

Anzat's chief diplomat, Minister Gorag Kron, had also resigned. Her Majesty wished the Falleen veteran well in his future endeavours, and thanked him for his tireless efforts to promote the Commonwealth's desire for peaceful coexistence. Long time Minister Eeth Vekdar was announced as Minister Kron's replacement, citing his extensive relationships with senior personnel in numerous governments and experience in diplomacy as the primary reasons for his reassignment.

It was also announced that the new position of Treasurer had been created, and filled by Minister Azarin Isard. Responsible for the Royal Coffers, Treasurer Isard is considered third in precedence of the Commonwealth's leadership, befitting his long service and expertise. The trust invested in this station was not handed out lightly, however Her Majesty conveyed that Privy was unanimous in their support of the Treasurer.

Three new faces were added to the Council's ranks. Coled Nemad and Altiare Sake, both long standing Administrators of Anzat's nationalized corporations, ascended to the positions of Minister of Commerce and Minister of Infrastructure respectively. Chancellor Ionian's vacant seat as Minister of Defence has been filled by Kosan Tammer. While little is known publically about the new Minister, aides did disclose he is a veteran of the elite Royal Marines, Anzat's special operations force.

Her Majesty concluded the statement with optimism for the Commonwealth's future. She feels, as do many familiar with the inner workings of the government's leadership, that these changes will reinvigorate the Council, and that invigoration will result in even greater gains for Anzat as a whole.

As always, she ended her address with sincere thanks to all Azatans, regardless of station, race, or role, and welcomed the thought of a unified, cohesive state moving forward into the future.
