As the Commonwealth' Tier-1 Special Operations Force, the Royal Marine Commandos are deployed across the Galaxy, often before the crisis has had a chance to become news. The sentients that serve in this organization do so anonymously, but are among the most specialized and well trained soldiers in modern times. Their missions, like their identities, are highly classified, although it has been acknowledged they answer directly to the Minister of Defence and the Crown.

Recruitment into the Royal Marines is highly competitive, and of all those accepted into the selection course roughly 75% withdraw or are found to be unsuitable. Their training encompasses all facets of unconventional warfare: from close quarters combat to sniping, sabotage to intelligence gathering, close personal protection to psychological warfare.



But for the few that succeed, they are rewarded with the scarlet uniform of their branch, and the Darkstick. A wickedly curved blade of Kerestian legend, a Marine is never found without this symbol of their abilities.
