Anzat is one of the oldest governments in the galaxy. The Anzati race is considered to be one of the original sentient lifeforms in the Galaxy, and among the most ancient civilizations. The planetary government would eventually be founded as the New Anzat Order. Despite the age of its culture, Anzat suffered for many long and hard years being ripped apart by leaders who were puppets of the Empire.

Vlademar von Ismay III, an aristocrat with ties to the Empire, began to diverge from the long held influence held by the Imperial Order. Upon his death, his successors, Wilhelm von Ismay and Owen von Ismay took up the work initially put in place and began working on a series of projects that would have seen the New Anzat Order grow.

After many months, new Corporations began to migrate to Anzatan territories from the former Kathol Republic, which at that point been under the control of pirates. Anzat soon saw a sudden increase in territorial gain, acquiring many new planets within their Colonial Government in Churba, even within their own capital system. With that Anzat had expanded once again, whilst fighting against the Mandalorian aggressors. These corporations soon built up the territories in Churba and looked to expanding their operations to other parts of Anzat.

With the new ways of the corporations meeting the old ways of Anzat, it became clear that a more unified step forward was needed. With that goal in mind, the Anzatan Commonwealth was born. With the Monarchy taking on the concerns of these new corporations and knowing that their economy and experience could fuel many new areas of development for Anzat, the Commonwealth was molded around the partnerships of commerce and governance, ensuring that Anzat could continue to grow.

However, under the continuing rule of Wilhelm von Ismay, the Commonwealth was once again plunged into a dictatorship that left its people quickly falling into poverty. The Sovereign had married Keishi Miahr, a Cathar Jedi Master, and former doctor. Although she had at first been unaware of her new husband’s tyrannical methods, she was quickly unsettled as more and more were revealed. Certain her husband would lead the people of Anzat into destruction, and with his actions becoming increasingly erratic, she confided in several other members of the Privy Council. Collectively, they plotted a coup, however every indication told them that Wilhelm would not surrender his power voluntarily. Seeing no alternative, and for the protection of the Commonwealth and its citizens, the coup was enacted, and the Wilhelm von Ismay was assassinated by the Queen’s long time friend and former Master, Soki Ionian.

Chaos followed, however the Queen’s nurturing personality, and the support of Privy, brought the government back to peace. Foreign governments from across the galaxy applauded the act, and several who had declared war on the Commonwealth immediately withdrew any hostile intentions. More who had cut off all diplomatic relations returned to their embassies, and several new treaties were signed. Domestically, industry and commerce flourished, raising the overall quality of life in the territories, and the wealth of the government.

Today the Commonwealth’s prosperity is only matched by its early beginnings as one of the first civilizations in the Galaxy. Devout servants of the Lightside of the Force, and protectors of the innocent, the government and its citizenry remain peaceful to all those that share their ideals. But to those criminals, pirates, and governments that prey upon others, the Commonwealth remains steadfast in its ability, and willingness, to face them.
