The brainchild of the former president Amrap Rathakar, Outback was later left in the care of the Tamerin Foundation, after Former President Rathakar decided to move on. Then once the Tamerin Foundation merged into the Anzatan Commonwealth, ownership changed yet again as it became a nationalised corporation.
Although Outback initially focused upon construction of facilities for wealthy clients, its direction later changed more towards highly lucrative Government recycling contracts. In addition to this, salvaged fighter wrecks are repurposed as "ugly" starfighters, and resold to the public. Although inferior to purpose built fighters, they are quality controlled and perfectly safe, and provide a suitable and affordable last resort defence measure, commonly used by traders who cannot afford professional escorts.
Initially based out of Verdan in the Churba sector, Outback Industries now operates out of Ussuis in Maldrood, where Outback manages operations through a wide array of resources including a Class IV Recycling Station.
